Gmail App Passwords Not Available
Tip: Don’t create an App Password unless the app or device you want to connect to your account doesn’t have “Sign in with Google.” When you use 2-Step Verification, some less secure apps or devices may be blocked from accessing your Google Account. App Passwords are a way to let the blocked app or device access your Google Account.
After changing my GMail password, I could no longer sign in to GMail with my desktop Outlook client.. when I go to "Security" -> "Signing in to Google", I do not see "App passwords". (I see "Password", "Use your phone to sign in" and "2-Step Verification".) Has the "app passwords" been removed?. For me it says that this setting is not.
Under the Password & sign-in method section, click App passwords. If prompted for your Gmail password, enter your password over Enter your password and click Next . Make sure Mail or Other (custom name) is selected in the Select app drop-down menu.
Many people promote an App Password as the solution to broken email clients, failures to sign in, etc, but that is not the case - an App Password can only "fix" a sign in problem if 2 step verification is already enabled in Gmail. If 2 step verification is not enabled, then the App Password is 100% irrelevant.
Note: If you are seeing a message “The setting that you are looking for is not available for your account.” you should enable 2-Step-Verification first. In the Select app dropdown menu, choose the app you’re using. You can also select Other and enter you own custom app name. In the Select device dropdown menu, choose the device you’re.
For my several Gmail accounts, I got the Google prompt for "Sign in with your Google Account" with the Google logo, etc. I deleted and recreated app passwords and it didn't work. However, if I input my master password for my Google accounts, it would work, but I would also be prompted with an agreement to share with Microsoft Cloud.

After you turn on two-step verification or set up the Authenticator app, you may run into issues if you use apps or older devices (like Windows Phone 8 and Xbox 360) that don't support two-step verification.. If you have two-step verification turned on and an app isn't prompting you to enter a security code when you sign in, you may be able to sign in with an app password instead.
